She was the second woman to serve as Premier of BC, after Rita Johnston in 1991, and the first female premier in Canada to lead her party to a plurality of seats in two consecutive elections. She resigned as Liberal Party Leader and left politics in August 2017.

Hon. Clark is a Keynote Speaker, a Founding Visionary with The Prosperity Project and holds appointments on a number of boards, some of which include the Canada-India Business Council, Constellation Brands, CN Vancouver Community Board, the Max Bell School of Public Policy and Roots of Empathy, a charitable organization the builds caring, peaceful and civic societies through the development of empathy in children and adults.

Honourable Caroline Cochrane

Premier, Northwest Territories

Caroline Cochrane, Premier, NWT

First elected in 2015, Premier Cochrane was re-elected to the 19th Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly representing the constituency of Range Lake.

Ms. Cochrane is especially proud of her work, through successful engagement with residents, to restructuring the philosophies, policies, and programs of the Northwest Territories Housing Corporation into attaining overall goals to assist residents to obtain, retain, and maintain their homes. As well, Minister Cochrane led the work to begin the implementation of the first 9-1-1 service in the NWT and continues to lead the Campaign Schools for Women to promote and support women being elected to all levels of government.

Ms. Cochrane is of Métis descent, holds a degree in Social Work, and has twenty years of experience in administration and direct service provision within accredited agencies that support high-risk families. She has developed and facilitated workshops on topics related to parenting, child development, a variety of “train the trainer” and facilitation/service provisions. She has also trained community health workers to conduct developmental assessments for children.

Ms. Cochrane and her partner, Rory, have a blended family of adult children and one grandchild. They look forward to their future generations enjoying the benefits the north has provided to them both. She is excited to be able to work towards ensuring a healthy, prosperous, sustainable future for the generations to come.

About the Enbridge Famous 5 Speaker Series

This series profiled extraordinarily successful women who spoke candidly about their careers, and the passion, vision and determination that drives them. The speakers discussed our place in society and the ethical responsibilities and consequences of our actions. In relating their lives, guests heard about challenges as well as triumphs, humorous incidents and stories of loss, humbling moments of reflection and inspiring calls to action. The Famous 5 Foundation’s Leadership Lunches launched on Oct. 18, 1996. In 2004, Enbridge became our title sponsor and we are very grateful for their on-going support!
